rain teams up with South African artists, designers and studios on work like the connect beautifully campaign and 101skins™, putting local art onto everyday devices. Here’s what some of our collaborators had to say.

One of the things we value most about our partnership with rain is their genuine commitment to creativity and the people behind it. They don't approach partnerships as conventional sponsorships, but as opportunities to grow and build meaningful, long-term collaborations that empower artists, designers and the broader creative community. Throughout our relationship, rain has consistently championed original ideas and trusted us to bring ambitious concepts to life, like the 101 skins collaboration which celebrates South African design and culture. Their openness, agility and belief in creative excellence have made them an exceptional partner to work with. We're proud to partner with an organisation that understands creativity is more than marketing. It's an investment in innovation, culture and the future of South Africa's creative economy. We look forward to continuing to create work together that is both meaningful and impactful.

One of the things Latitudes values most about working with rain is their openness to new ideas and their willingness to think beyond a traditional sponsorship. They approach partnerships with a desire to create meaningful value, not only for the brands involved, but also for the artists, creatives and audiences it serves. That collaborative mindset has enabled initiatives that have had a real impact, such as the router art skins Latitudes has curated for rain, which help to strengthen the creative ecosystem in practical and lasting ways. We're proud to partner with an organisation that shares our belief that investing in creativity is ultimately an investment in people, culture and the future of South Africa.

Working with rain on the 2025 skins campaign for the Latitudes Art Fair was a really enjoyable experience. Although we only had a few days from concept to execution, the whole process ran incredibly smoothly, and I appreciated the trust and freedom to bring my creative approach to the project. It was great being part of a campaign that connected art and technology in such an interesting way. The team at Catch + Release was fantastic to work with. The communication, collaboration, and overall approach made the process feel effortless, and I really enjoyed working together to bring the project to life.

In 2025, I had the pleasure of collaborating with rain on the Latitudes skins campaign. From the initial planning phases to the finishing touches, this project was wonderfully put together, and everyone involved was genuinely warm, approachable, and a pleasure to work with. Communication was always clear and considerate from beginning to end, making the collaboration both seamless and enjoyable. As a South African artist, I am proud to have been part of an initiative that brought together teams from different fields to celebrate local creativity and make contemporary South African art accessible to a wider audience.

Working with rain on the Latitudes (2025) skins campaign was a genuinely collaborative process. The team was clear in their brief, generous with creative latitude, and professional throughout, from concept to delivery. I would gladly work with them again.

Being asked to collaborate with rain and Latitudes for the 2024 'skins' campaign was such an exciting opportunity! I loved seeing my work across different media, including billboards and busses across the country, breaking the mould of the typical ways to engage with artworks. Thank you rain and Latitudes for such a fantastic collaboration together.

As a visual artist, one is looking to communicate and engage with an audience. While galleries and exhibitions remain the primary way to showcase artwork, sometimes an opportunity comes in a different form. My collaboration with rain in 2024 was a way to share my work with the wider public, while still giving respect to the original artwork titled 'I can breathe underwater' with the thoughts and process behind it. This is important to me as an artist. I like my work to be seen, but at the same time, I would like the audience to know that what they see is an element of an original artwork, made by a real person. In my case, the original piece was a woodcut printed off a hard carved woodblock, in 12 or so successive layers. The interviews and advertising campaign around the skins campaign were a good way to educate the public and share some of the great artists we have working in South Africa.
